Starting here so that it’s private for now.
There are a number of things we should do post install to give users the best start.
Post installation checks
Owner created an account and password
Software updates correctly configured and run
Timezone correctly set
Keyboard layout set correctly
Ensure the following items work:
Graphics
WiFi
Ethernet
Hibernation/sleep (primarily for laptops when closed)
Sound
Webcam
Multimedia keys
Storage card slot
Extra Software to install
Ensure Flathub is enabled as an installation source.
Ensure LibreOffice is installed if user is likely to need a local document editor.
Install Google Chrome if user is more familiar with this or is tied into the Google ecosystem.
Install Gnome Videos from FlatHub if the user is likely to want to watch DVDs.
