When replacing the mains cable, it is recommend to apply a tiny amount of Electrolube CG60 contact grease.

Yes! Used them in the past.
Sadly it seems the newer models are getting less repairable. The other make of hair straighteners that have at least some repairable models (last time I looked) were Cloud9.
